Nairobi: The Kenyan government has released an official investigative report regarding the murder of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, claiming that no violence was carried out before or after his murder.
According to the details in the Kenyan government report, the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif was a result of mistaken identity, and there were no signs of a planned murder. The report also stated that his car was set on fire because it did not stop at a checkpoint.
The claim of firing at Arshad Sharif’s car has also been declared false in the report, and the authorities have refuted the initial report that the officers involved were intoxicated.
The Kenyan government report recommended action against the two officers who fired without proper verification. Meanwhile, two Pakistani officers, Omar Shahid Hameed and Athar Waheed, who went to Kenya for the investigation, have reported that the murder was not a result of a planned conspiracy.
