Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has strongly condemned the suicide attack in Islamabad and has demanded immediate and decisive measures to eradicate terrorism from the country.
In a message shared on social media, Shahid Khan Afridi said that following recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, terrorists have now carried out another brutal act in Islamabad, targeting innocent civilians in a barbaric manner.
He stated that the wave of terrorism is intensifying with each passing day, raising serious concerns about how long such violence can be tolerated. Afridi questioned whether the nation will continue to rely only on condemnations and statements or move towards concrete action.
The former cricketer urged that evidence of foreign interference, repeatedly mentioned in discussions, should be presented before the nation and that the public should be taken into confidence while implementing all necessary steps to bring terrorism to an end.
It is worth noting that a suicide blast at Khadijat-ul-Kubra Mosque and Imambargah in the Tarlai area of Islamabad resulted in the martyrdom of 32 people, while more than 150 others sustained injuries, sparking widespread grief and outrage across the country.
