Dhaka: Following the recent general elections in Bangladesh, the formation of the new parliament has been completed, and the newly elected members have formally taken the oath of office, marking the beginning of a new parliamentary term.
According to news agencies, the oath-taking ceremony was held in Dhaka, where the Chief Election Commissioner administered the oath to the elected members. With the completion of this constitutional process, the new term of the legislative body has officially commenced. The ceremony was attended by senior officials and political figures.
After the oath-taking, political activity across the country has intensified, with various parties engaging in consultations to determine their future parliamentary strategy.
Local media reports indicate that the parliamentary party meeting of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party is expected to be convened soon, during which key decisions, including the selection of the Leader of the House, are anticipated. Meanwhile, President Mohammed Shahabuddin is scheduled to administer the oath to the new cabinet at 4 pm local time. Following this stage, the new government will formally assume office and take charge of administrative affairs.
