Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during his two-day visit to Doha, where both leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments in detail. According to an official statement, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present during the meeting.
The statement said that the two leaders reviewed all aspects of Pakistan-Qatar brotherly relations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening ties. They emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, particularly in expanding economic and trade relations.
According to the statement, the Emir of Qatar reiterated his commitment to elevating economic partnership to a higher strategic level and stressed the need to promote investment and development cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also included discussions on regional and international developments of mutual interest. Both leaders underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of disputes, agreeing that continued engagement is essential for regional stability.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on key regional issues. The statement further noted that the Emir of Qatar accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to visit Pakistan, and his visit is expected later this year.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha yesterday on a two-day official visit, where he began a series of high-level engagements.
