Former Interior Minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the war that began in the Middle East after the attack on Iran could spread further, urging the Pakistani nation to remain vigilant.
Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, Sheikh Rashid expressed sorrow over the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, stating that the Muslim world is deeply grieved by the incident. He described the growing regional tensions as alarming, with potentially far-reaching consequences.
He said that in his view, the conflict may intensify further, and therefore, the Pakistani public should remain cautious and keep a close watch on their schools, mosques, and surrounding areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
Commenting on the domestic situation, Sheikh Rashid said that the poor were already facing severe hardships and were caught in an economic storm. He stated that flour prices had reached 150 rupees per kilogram, the country’s economic conditions had deteriorated, and the common man was struggling to survive.
