The International Atomic Agency has stated that so far there are no confirmed reports of any Iranian nuclear facility being targeted or damaged. The statement comes after recent strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran.
According to foreign media reports, an emergency meeting of the agency was held in Vienna, the capital of Austria, to review the situation following the attacks on Iran and to assess potential implications. The safety and security of nuclear facilities in the region were also discussed during the session.
Addressing the meeting, the head of the agency Rafael Grossi said that there is currently no verified information indicating that any Iranian nuclear facility has been hit or damaged. He added that efforts are ongoing to establish contact with Iran’s nuclear authority, but no formal response has yet been received. He expressed hope that communication channels would be established as soon as possible.
Grossi urged all parties to exercise restraint and responsibility, emphasizing that extreme caution must be observed during any military operations to prevent risks to nuclear facilities and regional stability.
During the meeting, the Iranian representative was asked which nuclear facilities in Iran had been targeted. In response, the representative stated that the Natanz nuclear facility had been attacked.
