Electricity prices have been increased across Pakistan, including Karachi, under the quarterly adjustment mechanism, placing an additional burden of more than 8.67 billion rupees on consumers.
According to the decision, electricity tariffs have been raised by 35 paisas per unit. The increase will apply for three months from March to May 2026 and will affect consumers across the country.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has forwarded the decision regarding the price increase to the federal government for approval.
It is worth noting that electricity prices were also increased by 33 paisas per unit during the quarterly adjustment for July to September 2025, further increasing the financial burden on consumers.
