A decision has been made to utilize the services of the Federal Constabulary to establish peace and stability in Balochistan, aiming to further strengthen security measures across the province and accelerate actions against criminal elements.
An important meeting on law and order was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, attended by senior officials from federal and provincial institutions, where key security matters were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, a comprehensive briefing was given on law and order, repatriation of Afghan refugees, hawala hundi, extortion, and smuggling, along with discussions on measures to address these issues.
It was decided that in the first phase, around 3,000 personnel comprising two wings of the Federal Constabulary will be deployed in Balochistan to handle security responsibilities in various areas.
Additionally, it was decided to further activate the FIA in Balochistan and recruit local individuals for vacant positions. The federal and provincial governments also agreed to strengthen monitoring of anti-state activities on social media.
The meeting also decided to intensify actions against individuals involved in baseless propaganda against the state on social media to ensure peace and stability.
According to the statement, the federal government assured full support to the Balochistan government, while Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that all possible assistance will be provided to enhance the professional capacity of the Balochistan Police, adding that the government is fully aware of the situation and will support efforts for peace.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that efforts to eliminate terrorism are being carried out with full force and determination, emphasizing that the fight against terrorism is not only the responsibility of security forces but a collective national effort. He reiterated that the writ of the state will be ensured at all costs.
He further stated that no highways in Balochistan are now being blocked in the name of protests and appreciated the support of the federal government in restoring peace.
