The first case of monkeypox has been reported in Karachi this year, raising concerns among health authorities and relevant institutions.
According to hospital sources, the patient was shifted to the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital, where test results came back positive, confirming mpox infection.
Sources stated that after initial treatment, the affected individual was discharged and transferred to another hospital for further monitoring and care.
Hospital officials said that the patient had recently returned from abroad, prompting precautionary measures to prevent further spread of the virus.
According to health department sources, several suspected mpox cases have also been reported in different hospitals this year, and investigations are ongoing to keep the situation under control.
