Matriculation exams have officially begun in Karachi, but last-minute changes in examination centers have caused significant concern among students and parents.
The situation worsened when many students found their exam centers changed just a day before exams, as reflected on their admit cards, leading to frustration and uncertainty.
Students also faced issues regarding the issuance and online access to admit cards, prompting Sindh Education Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahoo to express anger at the Karachi Matric Board chairman.
He directed through a formal notice that action be taken against those responsible for this negligence, warning of disciplinary measures if a satisfactory response is not provided within three days.
Meanwhile, the Controller of Examinations stated that all arrangements have been finalized, and a monitoring cell has been set up at the Commissioner’s Office to oversee the process.
Section 144 has been imposed around examination centers, and law enforcement agencies have been alerted to ensure security.
Cybersecurity teams have also been instructed to monitor WhatsApp groups to prevent paper leaks.
The Controller further stated that students who are unable to reach their assigned centers on the first day can appear at the nearest examination center instead.
