Head of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security Council, Ibrahim Azizi, has stated that every vessel passing through the Strait of Hormuz will be required to pay a toll under a newly introduced control system, as part of a broader policy aimed at strengthening oversight and regulation of this critical maritime route.
Speaking to Russian media, he explained that the Iranian government will establish an effective control and management system over the Strait of Hormuz, keeping national interests at the forefront, in order to ensure security and maintain an organized flow of maritime traffic.
Ibrahim Azizi further stated that Iran cannot trust the United States, and therefore, all related policies will be formulated strictly in line with national interests to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and security.
Meanwhile, the process of restoring Iran’s oil refining sector is also progressing steadily, with authorities expressing hope that nearly 80 percent of production capacity will be restored within the next two months, which is expected to improve the country’s energy sector.
