US President Donald Trump has refused to apologize to Pope Leo, maintaining his position and stating that he will not issue any apology, as he believes that the Pope made incorrect statements and he was merely responding to them.
In his statement, Donald Trump said that Pope Leo strongly opposes his actions regarding Iran, however, he stands by his decisions and clarified that his remarks were made in response to the Pope’s criticism, highlighting clear differences between the two.
The US president further stated that Pope Leo may not be satisfied with the final outcome, but emphasized that he is only defending his stance and providing clarification rather than escalating the situation.
Earlier, Donald Trump had shared images of himself portrayed as Jesus Christ on his social media account, which drew widespread criticism, after which he deleted the post following public backlash.
