US President Donald Trump has accused China of supplying weapons to Iran, stating that he has received reports suggesting that China is providing arms to Tehran, while China has rejected these allegations.
The US President said that he had written a letter to the Chinese President highlighting these concerns and urging China to refrain from supplying weapons to Iran. According to him, such reports are concerning and could impact the regional situation.
Donald Trump further stated that he received a very courteous reply from the Chinese President, in which it was clarified that China is not providing any weapons to Iran and that the allegations are unfounded.
It is worth noting that last week, a US broadcaster, citing American intelligence sources, reported that China was planning to supply Iran with a new air defense system within the coming weeks, bringing the issue into global discussion.
