Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to prevent the complete collapse of ongoing peace talks between the United States and Iran, while continuing attempts to maintain communication between the two sides.
According to a report by the British publication Financial Times, Pakistan is playing a significant mediating role amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, and in this process, Pakistan’s army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir is being viewed as an unconventional yet central figure.
The report further states that due to a severe lack of trust, economic sanctions, and ongoing military tensions between the two countries, the peace negotiations have entered a challenging phase; however, Pakistan is making continuous efforts to keep communication channels open and facilitate the path toward dialogue.
