Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has stated that the government is making strong efforts to resume work on the Red Line project within the next 48 hours in order to minimize delays and reduce public inconvenience.
He said that the Red Line project is currently the only major initiative causing significant difficulties for the public, adding that the Sindh government had repeatedly warned Lot One and Lot Two contractors to complete work on time. He noted that there were serious concerns regarding the performance of Lot Two, as the work was not being carried out satisfactorily, which ultimately led the government to terminate the contract.
Sharjeel Memon further explained that this decision was taken in consultation with the Asian Development Bank, and the Sindh government is committed to completing this important corridor as soon as possible to provide better transport facilities to citizens.
He added that efforts are underway to restart work on the project within 48 hours, while expressing satisfaction over the progress on Shahrah Bhutto and stating that it will be fully opened to the public next month.
