United States: The US military has initiated new planning to target Iran’s military capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to strengthen its strategy in case of escalating tensions in the region.
According to a report by a US broadcaster, if the ceasefire ends, Iran’s capabilities in and around the Strait of Hormuz, the southern Arabian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman could be targeted to maintain control over key maritime routes.
The report, citing sources familiar with the plans, stated that potential strikes may focus on Iran’s fast attack boats, mine-laying vessels, and other unconventional military assets that play a critical role in maritime operations.
It further added that these assets are being targeted because Tehran has previously used such means to potentially disrupt key waterways and exert pressure, which is considered a strategic concern for the United States.
