Passengers traveling on the Jaffar Express from Quetta to Peshawar have faced severe difficulties due to a malfunction in the train’s air conditioning system, with travelers demanding immediate action from railway authorities amid intense heat.
According to passengers, the cooling system in the AC coaches became completely ineffective, making the journey extremely uncomfortable, while the onboard staff also appeared unable to resolve the issue.
Passengers stated that fares for AC Standard are being charged at 7,600 rupees, Business Class at 10,000 rupees, and AC Sleeper up to Lahore at 14,000 rupees, despite the absence of the basic facility of air conditioning, which they described as serious negligence by the railway department.
The affected travelers questioned why the AC system was not properly inspected before the train departed from Quetta, while they also complained that the train staff failed to effectively address the problem during the journey.
Passengers have appealed to the Federal Minister for Railways and other concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the matter, initiate action against those responsible, and ensure preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
