Pakistan has expressed serious concern over continued militant attacks originating from Afghan territory, stating that attacks on Pakistani citizens and security institutions can no longer be tolerated.
During a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office spokesperson said the continuation of terrorist attacks from Afghanistan has tested Pakistan’s patience and that the country will take necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and citizens.
The spokesperson noted that Pakistan remains one of the countries most affected by terrorism, with thousands of civilians having lost their lives in terrorist incidents over the years.
According to the Foreign Office, Pakistani security forces continue to face terrorism that is allegedly planned, financed, and supported from across the border.
The spokesperson stressed that no responsible state can remain silent when its citizens, territory, and law enforcement agencies are targeted.
Pakistan also called on Afghanistan to ensure that its territory is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
At the same time, the spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing that Pakistan seeks brotherly relations with Afghanistan based on shared religious, historical, cultural, and linguistic ties.
Commenting on India, the spokesperson said Pakistan remains concerned about the situation of Muslims and other minorities in the country and continues to raise human rights issues with the European Union and other international organizations.
He added that concerns regarding alleged human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir were also discussed during meetings with European officials.
