Iran has rejected claims by US President Donald Trump that a deal between Washington and Tehran is close to completion, saying no final agreement has been reached so far.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that reports regarding the date and location of a potential signing ceremony are purely speculative.
According to Baghaei, a significant portion of the negotiation text has been prepared, but the United States has repeatedly changed its position during the talks.
He added that both Pakistan and Qatar are playing active roles in the mediation process and continue to facilitate diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
The Iranian spokesperson also accused certain US actions of negatively affecting diplomatic efforts, while emphasizing that Iran will not compromise on its red lines or national interests.
Earlier, President Donald Trump claimed that documents related to a potential agreement with Iran were in their final stages and that a deal could be signed soon.
Trump also stated that he believed Iran’s leadership had already agreed to the framework and reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
The latest remarks from Tehran come amid ongoing diplomatic contacts and growing speculation regarding a possible breakthrough in US-Iran negotiations.
