US President Donald Trump has claimed that a proposed agreement with Iran is in its final stages and could be signed soon.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said the signing could take place by the end of the week and is expected to be held in Europe.
He added that US Vice President J.D. Vance would attend the signing ceremony and that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen immediately after the agreement is finalized.
According to Trump, the development has been welcomed across the Middle East and by all parties involved.
The US president also claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader has agreed to the deal and that the Iranian leadership has already approved the proposed agreement.
Trump said the agreement would ensure that Iran is unable to develop nuclear weapons.
He further praised Pakistan’s role in the peace process, describing the country’s contribution as highly constructive and effective.
Trump also commended Pakistan’s prime minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their efforts toward regional peace and stability.
The US president stated that he had also discussed the Iran issue with Israeli leadership.
Earlier, in a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump said negotiations with Iran had reached an advanced stage and that, following necessary approvals, he had decided to halt planned military strikes.
