Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq declared the Tosha Khana fraud case non-admissible during the announcement of a secure decision.
The court accepted the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request against the trial court’s decision. The trial court had previously deemed the trial against the PTI Chairman admissible.
It should be noted that Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, had filed a request to transfer the Tosha Khana case to another bench while expressing a lack of confidence in Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.
The request, filed through Barrister Gohar’s intervention, pleaded for Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Aamer Farooq to hear the requests related to the Tosha Khana trial in order to fulfill the demands of impartiality.
Imran Khan, while expressing reservations in the request, stated that his entire political career is at risk due to these cases.
It is evident that the requests against the May 5 order related to the Tosha Khana trial are under consideration.
The decision of the Islamabad High Court regarding the Tosha Khana case is a significant relief for the PTI Chairman. Prior reports indicated that on Tuesday, the PTI Chairman could be arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case, and thereafter, Islamabad High Court would deem the Tosha Khana fraud case admissible. Once this happens, Imran Khan’s presence for every hearing in the Tosha Khana fraud case will be ensured, and thus, the case will reach its conclusion within a few months.
It was also suggested that Imran Khan may be declared incompetent in this case. However, currently, it does not appear that the Tosha Khana fraud case is progressing towards an immediate decision.
