NAB prepares draft of fundamental amendments in NAB Ordinance. Under the NAB rules, the arrested accused can be kept in physical remand for 30 days instead of 14.
According to sources from the Ministry of Law and Justice, the federal cabinet has granted approval for the proposed amendments in NAB. The approval for fundamental amendments in the NAB Ordinance will be given through a presidential ordinance.
The Acting President is expected to approve the Presidential Amendment Ordinance. The Chairman of NAB will be empowered to issue warrants for the arrest of individuals involved in non-cooperation during investigations.
Under NAB laws, the arrested accused can be held in physical remand for 30 days instead of 14 days.
