Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that war is not a solution to any problem, and they believe in peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while addressing the opening session of the Pakistan Mineral Summit (Dust to Development) on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Minerals Summit is ongoing in Islamabad with the aim of exploring and exploiting the vast potential for the development of the mining and minerals industry in the country.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, heads of various international and national companies related to the mining industry, ambassadors, and senior officials are participating in the inaugural session.
The theme of this conference, “From Soil to Development: Investment Opportunities in Pakistan,” is attracting international investors, major mining organizations, corporate leaders, and government partners to devise a strategy to explore the abundant mineral resources in Pakistan.
Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that today is an important day for us, investors and other people from different walks of life are present here. The Reko Duck project holds special significance in the country’s history. In the past 75 years, we did not pay attention to our valuable wealth, and whether we remained victims of cartels or political reasons, we faced fluctuations.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan possesses reserves worth $6 trillion, and if we look around, we can see where we stand. Pakistan Steel Mill, built with the cooperation of Russia in the 1970s, continuously generated revenue from its raw material. The reserves of iron ore in Kalabagh were accessible but were neglected. Today, with the technology of this era, these reserves can be utilized for the raw material of this steel mill.
