Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has prevented the caretaker government from providing relief to consumers up to 200 units of electricity.
According to details, expressing concern over the non-payment of electricity bills, the IMF restrained the caretaker government from providing significant relief in electricity bills, stating that if relief is given in electricity bills, revenue collection will not improve.
IMF has banned relief in electricity rate for consumers up to 200 units, relief up to 200 units of electricity will only get temporary relief for delaying payment of bills.
10% surcharge will not be levied on late payment of bills up to 200 units of electricity, relief will be given to those who consume less than 200 units for at least 6 months.
If a bill exceeding 200 units is received even once within 6 months, relief will not be provided. However, all types of relief beyond 200 units of electricity will be deprived of it.
