The Election Commission has issued an invitation for foreign observers. The Election Commission believes that transparency in elections requires an open-door policy for both national and international observers. It is mandatory for foreign observers to obtain accreditation from the Election Commission.
According to the Election Commission, foreign observers can expedite the acquisition of their visas through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Pakistan Online Portal. After reaching Pakistan, the observers will be required to obtain accreditation from the Election Commission.
The accreditation form can be downloaded from the Election Commission’s website. However, individuals with political affiliations will not be granted accreditation. On the other hand, foreign observers are required to undergo a mandatory security clearance process.
In the ongoing invitation, it has been said that foreign observers should submit reports on election irregularities.
Apart from this, foreign observers can also give suggestions to further improve the electoral process in the report.
