After controlling the fire in Arshi shopping mall near Ayesha Manzil area of Karachi, the affected building was sealed. 4 people died and 2 were injured due to fire.

The fire that broke out last evening was brought under control after about two and a half hours of efforts, during which 4 people died and 2 were injured.

A fire broke out near Ayesha Manzil in the central district, engulfing the furniture shops on the ground floor of the multi-story Arshi Center. The flames spread, causing extensive damage and turning merchandise, including perfume bottles on the design floor, into ashes. The fire consumed belongings worth millions. Additionally, more than two dozen motorcycles and several cars parked outside the shopping mall were also engulfed in flames.

According to the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) spokesperson, the affected building has been sealed so that no one can enter.

The spokesman said that after the cooling process, the committee will inspect the building, the report of which will be submitted to the authorities.

In the operation conducted to rescue individuals trapped in the building, the Fire Brigade, Rescue 1122, Rangers, and the police were also involved. Rescue authorities mentioned that the intensity of the fire increased due to the presence of foam. To gain control over the fire, seven fire tenders, one snorkel, and a bowser were utilized.

According to fire brigade officials, the intensity of the fire increased due to foam. Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir ordered an inquiry into the fire incident.

The Caretaker Chief Minister has set up a committee under the supervision of Commissioner Karachi and directed to submit a report within 3 days.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab says that all shopping malls and residential buildings in Shahr Quaid will be audited, buildings across Karachi will be reviewed for fire prevention arrangements.

Taking notice of the incident of fire in the building, Governor Sindh Kamran Tesuri said that another incident has happened in Karachi. is the less to be condemned,Every building should be checked where such incidents may occur, with every institution the building management does not look into such cases.

He said that warehouses have been constructed in the building which is a very wrong move, whenever there is an incident the fire brigade arrives late, they should admit their mistakes and rectify the situation.
