A proposal has emerged to allocate a federal development budget of 1400 billion rupees for the upcoming fiscal year. An additional 100 billion rupees is suggested to be set aside under the Public-Private Partnership, bringing the total federal development program for the next fiscal year to 1500 billion rupees.
According to the documents, a development budget of 824 billion rupees is proposed for infrastructure. The energy sector is expected to receive a development budget of 253 billion rupees in the new fiscal year.
A development budget of 279 billion rupees is proposed for transport and communications, while 206 billion rupees is suggested for water projects in the next fiscal year. The social sector is set to receive a development budget of 280 billion rupees, with 45 billion rupees allocated for health.
The new fiscal year’s development budget proposal includes 93 billion rupees for education and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), 79 billion rupees for science and IT, and 75 billion rupees for parliamentarians’ schemes. Additionally, 75 billion rupees are allocated for Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, 64 billion rupees for the merged districts in KP, 42 billion rupees for food and agriculture, and 28 billion rupees for governance. A development budget of 50 billion rupees is proposed for the production sector in the upcoming fiscal year.
For industries, the new fiscal year’s development budget proposal includes 8 billion rupees.
