The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has stated that internet services in Pakistan have been disrupted due to a fault in the global submarine cable.
According to the PTA spokesperson, a fault has been reported in the submarine cable Asia Africa Europe 1 (AAE-1), following which an alert has been issued regarding the issue.
The spokesperson mentioned that due to the fault, internet and broadband users across the country may face problems. The cable is one of the seven that connect Pakistan to international internet traffic, and relevant teams are working to resolve the issue.
The spokesperson further added that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is monitoring the situation.
