Peshawar: Authorities have begun considering hosting cricket matches at Peshawar’s Arbab Niaz Stadium after a gap of 20 years.
According to police officials, an ICC team visited Arbab Niaz Stadium to assess the possibility of holding PSL matches. Officials stated that the ICC team surveyed the ground, pavilion, area routes, and hotel routes for foreign players.
The Peshawar Police Chief briefed the ICC team on the security situation. Police officials mentioned that shuttle services for spectators, drone camera monitoring, and a helipad near the stadium will be arranged.
The PCB is considering hosting two PSL matches in Peshawar in April. Officials also assured that satisfactory security arrangements will be made for foreign players. It is worth noting that the last match at Arbab Niaz Stadium was played between Pakistan and India in 2006.
