Residents of Korangi No.1 in Karachi staged a strong protest against unannounced loadshedding.
According to details, locals began protesting due to prolonged power outages in Korangi No.1. The demonstration against K-Electric resulted in both tracks being blocked, causing traffic to come to a halt.
Protesters stated that K-Electric cuts power whenever it pleases, beyond the announced schedule. There is no electricity throughout the day, and even at night, the power is shut off.
It is worth mentioning that K-Electric’s stance on loadshedding is that areas with low or no bill recovery face longer outages.
Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, strong winds and rain caused 79 feeders in the HESCO region to trip. A HESCO spokesperson stated that power is being restored to the affected feeders; electricity has been restored to 100 feeders in Hyderabad, and work is ongoing on the remaining ones.
