Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar, in an interview with British broadcaster Sky News, stated that the ceasefire between Pakistan and India is the result of effective diplomatic efforts by multiple countries.
He shared that the Prime Minister of Pakistan extended special thanks to U.S. President Donald Trump, while China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and Qatar also played key roles in the process.
According to Atta Tarar, the U.S. President expressed his desire for resolving the Kashmir issue in a second tweet, showing his willingness to help find a solution.
The Federal Minister added that India has not yet cut off Pakistan’s water supply because it lacks the capability to do so.
He further said that Pakistan not only expressed regret over the Pahalgam incident but also offered cooperation for transparent investigations. However, India made baseless accusations without presenting a single credible piece of evidence.
Atta Tarar stated that despite the presence of 700,000 Indian troops in Pahalgam, the incident exposes the failure of Indian security forces.
He emphasized that Pakistan is fighting the largest war against terrorism, with operations ongoing against terrorists along the western borders. He made it clear that no terrorist group has a safe haven in Pakistan.
Atta Tarar added that the ceasefire is not a sign of weakness but a success of Pakistan’s strategy. Before the ceasefire, Pakistan successfully targeted Indian military installations and ammunition depots, after which India was no longer in a position to handle further escalation.
He concluded by stating that the entire nation stands firmly with the Pakistan Armed Forces and that Pakistan’s victory is as clear as daylight.
