Good news has emerged for pilgrims under the private Hajj scheme as the Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that applications can now be submitted starting today. Under this scheme, a total of 37,903 new pilgrims will be accommodated this year.
The announcement further noted that 22,097 pilgrims who were unable to perform Hajj last year had already registered under the private scheme. Private Hajj operators have been directed to prioritize these individuals first before considering new applicants.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, private Hajj operators are required to submit an affidavit confirming that last year’s pilgrims will be registered on a priority basis. The overall quota allocated for private Hajj operators this year stands at 60,000.
Sources confirmed that, along with the 22,097 pilgrims carried over from last year, 37,903 new applicants will also be facilitated under the private scheme, making it possible for a total of 60,000 pilgrims to perform Hajj this year.
