Karachi is expected to experience extremely hot and humid weather today, according to meteorological analyst Jawad Memon. With high humidity levels, the temperature is likely to remain between 38°C and 40°C, but the heat index could make it feel above 43°C, causing severe discomfort for residents.
Memon explained that post-monsoon low-pressure activity has disrupted sea breezes. A well-marked low-pressure system is currently present near Gujarat, India, which may intensify further and develop into a depression. Under the influence of this system, sea breezes in Karachi have been cut off, and there is a possibility that the system could move into the Arabian Sea.
The analyst further noted that thunderclouds may form in the city’s outskirts today. Moreover, light to moderate rainfall is expected in some parts of Karachi on September 30, which could bring relief from the extreme heat. Citizens have been advised to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and take necessary precautions against hot and humid conditions.
