Former Speaker of the National Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Qaiser has invited the government to hold a public rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that full protocol will be provided, as political activities are a constitutional right of all parties.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Asad Qaiser questioned the failure to eliminate terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asking why the issue has not yet been fully resolved in the province and stressing the need for clear answers.
He said that if the government has any grievance against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, it should also consult other political parties in the province and bring all political leadership together to ascertain facts, adding that labeling them as unserious is neither humane nor democratic.
Asad Qaiser questioned whether the Constitution does not allow citizens and political parties to hold rallies and demonstrations, and if it does, why any party is being denied this right.
The former speaker demanded that members of the national jirga be summoned to share ground realities and called for full implementation of the National Action Plan to effectively counter terrorism and improve law and order.
Referring to the fire incident at Gul Plaza in Karachi, he said the scenes witnessed there were extremely tragic and emphasized the need to learn lessons from such incidents.
