Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong message to the Afghan Taliban regime, stating that Pakistan’s armed forces are currently giving a firm response to alleged Indian proxy elements and Afghan aggression, and that the enemy’s defeat is inevitable.
In a message posted on social media, Khawaja Asif said that after the withdrawal of NATO forces, it was expected that peace would prevail in Afghanistan and that the Taliban would focus on the welfare of the Afghan people and regional stability. However, he claimed that the situation unfolded differently, with Afghanistan falling under Indian influence.
He alleged that the Taliban allowed various extremist elements to gather in Afghanistan and attempted to export terrorism across borders. He further stated that the Afghan population has been deprived of basic human rights and that women have been denied rights granted to them under Islam.
The defence minister said Pakistan made serious diplomatic efforts, both directly and through friendly countries, to normalize the situation, but claimed that the Taliban became an Indian proxy. He added that when attempts were made to target Pakistan, the armed forces responded decisively and effectively.
Khawaja Asif further remarked that Pakistan’s army is not a distant force but a neighboring entity fully aware of the ground realities. He warned that patience has reached its limit and any further aggression would be met with an open and strong response.
