A senior security official has stated that operations under Operation Ghazab ul Haq will continue until the Afghan Taliban government ceases support for militant groups, adding that the duration of the operations will depend on concrete actions taken on the ground.
Speaking to the media, the official said the Afghan Taliban must decide whether they stand with Pakistan or with active militant groups. The timeline of the operations, he added, will be determined by verifiable steps taken by the Afghan authorities.
He alleged that the Afghan Taliban government is supporting multiple militant organizations and must provide credible assurances to Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistan is not acting in haste and is targeting safe havens and facilitators of militants under its right of self defense.
The official claimed that propaganda and misinformation are being spread and clarified that Pakistan has no dispute with the Afghan people, as its operations are focused solely on militant elements and their supporters. He stated that more than 180 posts have been destroyed and over 30 key locations, previously used as launch pads by militants, have been taken under control.
Regarding Iran, the official said Pakistan is pursuing a balanced policy and seeks a stable and peaceful Iran. He rejected claims that Pakistan could be the next target, calling them baseless.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan has the capability to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and has demonstrated its defensive strength in past counter terrorism operations.
The official further stated that while peaceful protest is a constitutional right, violence will not be tolerated. He urged effective implementation of the National Action Plan and better governance, stressing that the military has no political agenda.
According to available details, 435 personnel of the Afghan Taliban regime have been killed and more than 630 injured during the ongoing operations. Additionally, 188 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery guns have been destroyed, and 51 locations in Afghanistan have been targeted in air operations, including ammunition depots and drone storage sites in Khost and Jalalabad.
