Following continuous missile and drone attacks from Iran, concerns are emerging that Gulf countries may soon face shortages of interceptor missiles used in air defense systems to shoot down incoming threats. Experts warn that if the current pace of attacks continues, several countries in the region could run low on these defensive missiles.
According to a report by an American newspaper, defense analysts believe the rate at which interceptor missiles are being used is extremely high. If the same pace continues, significant shortages could appear within about a week.
However, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have rejected claims of interceptor shortages, stating that they possess sufficient air defense resources to deal with any potential threats.
The report also noted that after providing military support during the four year war in Ukraine, the US Department of Defense is also seeing a gradual decline in its stockpile of Patriot missiles, raising concerns about pressure on global defense supplies.
