An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has approved Aleema Khan’s request for exemption from appearance, while also taking legal action due to her continued absence.
The hearing of the case related to the November 26 protest against Aleema Khan was conducted by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, where she once again did not appear before the court.
Her lawyer, Faisal Malik, filed a request seeking an exemption from appearance, which the court accepted, granting her temporary relief from attending the hearing.
However, due to her absence, the court ordered the freezing of Aleema Khan’s national identity card and bank account, indicating further legal progression in the case.
It is noteworthy that cross-examination of one prosecution lawyer is still pending, while the defense counsel has completed cross-examination of 17 prosecution witnesses.
