Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that permission has been granted for 20 more Pakistani-flagged ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a positive and significant development.
In a statement posted on X, Dar said that two ships will cross the Strait of Hormuz daily, helping maintain continuity in maritime operations.
He tagged U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, stating that Iran’s move is constructive and commendable.
Dar said this development could serve as a precursor to greater peace and stability in the region, describing the announcement as an important step toward peace that will strengthen collective efforts.
He further emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy, and confidence-building remain the only effective path forward for resolving issues and achieving lasting peace.
