A Russian military transport aircraft has crashed in Crimea, resulting in the deaths of 29 people, including six crew members.
According to news agencies, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that contact with the aircraft was lost around 6 PM shortly after takeoff, and it later crashed in a mountainous area near the Black Sea.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that preliminary findings indicate there was no attack on the aircraft, and it likely collided with a mountain due to a technical fault.
Russian media reported that rescue and relief operations were launched immediately after the crash, while investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
