US President Donald Trump has indicated that Pakistan is the preferred venue for upcoming talks with Iran, suggesting that a significant development could take place within the next two days, pointing to increased diplomatic activity in the region.
Speaking to a reporter, Trump said he is more inclined toward holding negotiations in Pakistan, adding, “Stay there, something could happen in the next two days,” signaling serious consideration of the move.
He further stated that Pakistan is a likely choice for talks due to the performance of Field Marshal General Asim Munir, praising his role and indicating that it has influenced the US decision to consider returning to Pakistan for negotiations.
According to reports, Trump initially denied plans to send a US delegation to Pakistan, but later followed up with a positive indication regarding the next round of talks, highlighting a shift in stance.
Sources suggest that another round of Iran-US negotiations is expected to take place in Islamabad soon, while Iranian officials have also indicated that Pakistan would be their preferred location for further dialogue.
A global news agency reported that US and Iranian delegations may return to Islamabad for peace talks later this week, while an official at the Iranian embassy in Pakistan also suggested that the next round of talks could be held later this week or early next week.
