In South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda area, Afghan Taliban forces once again targeted civilian populations, as unprovoked shelling left four children and one woman seriously injured, escalating tensions in the region.
According to security sources, mortar shells were fired from across the border into Pakistani civilian areas, with one shell hitting the house of local residents Kareem Khan and Rehmatullah, causing injuries to those inside.
Sources confirmed that the injured, including four children and a woman, were immediately shifted to DHQ Hospital Wana, where they are receiving medical treatment and remain under observation.
Security officials stated that the Pakistan Army responded swiftly and effectively to the unprovoked aggression by targeting multiple Afghan Taliban posts along the border, forcing their personnel to abandon positions and retreat.
Sources added that while Afghan Taliban continue to target civilian areas, the Pakistan Army’s response is focused strictly on military targets to avoid unnecessary civilian casualties.
According to security sources, Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq will continue until its objectives are achieved, while a similar cross-border firing incident a few days earlier had also left three people injured, further heightening tensions.
