Sales of Chinese-made fighter jets have significantly increased following their use by the Pakistan Air Force during the conflict with India, where several Indian aircraft were reportedly targeted, drawing global attention to their combat performance.
According to an American publication, the Chinese aircraft manufacturer AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Corporation recorded nearly double sales in the first quarter of the current year, indicating growing international demand for its aircraft.
The report stated that the company’s revenue rose by 16 percent last year to reach 11 billion dollars, while profits increased by 6.5 percent, marking the highest profit level in the company’s history.
It was further noted that the company’s single-engine multi-role J-10 fighter jets were used during the Pakistan-India conflict in May last year, where the Pakistan Air Force reportedly shot down multiple Indian aircraft, including French-made Rafale jets.
According to the report, the conflict served as one of the rare instances where modern Chinese weaponry was tested in real combat conditions, leading to increased global interest in its capabilities.
The report also mentioned that India acknowledged aircraft losses during the conflict, although it did not disclose the exact number of jets destroyed.
