Amir Kiyani, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has confirmed his resignation from the party following the departure of Mahmood Moulvi.
In a statement, he said, “My ancestors have been in the military, and I cannot even think of betraying their ideals. Politics has become so dirty that it cannot be pursued anymore. I am not only leaving the party, but also quitting politics altogether.”
Amir Kiyani further stated, “I am alone in this decision. I had made up my mind two months ago, and today I am announcing it officially.”
According to sources, Amir Kiyani will hold a press conference at 5 p.m. this evening to make a formal announcement.
