Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has stated that women involved in attacks on military installations are not entitled to any leniency.
Mohsin Naqvi further stated that in Punjab, more than 500 women are currently wanted in over 138 cases as of May 9. According to the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), women included in the FIRs (First Information Reports) will be arrested without any exceptions, and no special treatment will be given to them. However, if women voluntarily surrender themselves for arrest at military premises, especially within and outside Jinnah House, then only in such cases, a decision of leniency has been made to accommodate them.
Caretaker Chief Minister said that men police will not detain women, arrest of women involved in cases should be ensured along with ladies police and efforts will be made to keep women in women police station.
