Islamabad: Former Federal Minister Faisal Vawda has declared former Director General of ISI, Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed, as the mastermind behind a £190 million case.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Faisal Vawda said, “Finding corruption in a £190 million case is not rocket science. I have been asked numerous detailed questions regarding this matter. NAB has provided me with all the written details and I have signed them. I do not need to provide any documents.”
The former minister said, “When this case was ongoing, I was a federal minister. A sealed envelope was shown in a cabinet meeting and it was quickly dealt with. It was said at the time that a NAB case will be initiated. The sealed envelope shown in the cabinet meeting was not part of the agenda. It was said that if a decision was needed, it should have been taken then. The important business personality in this case is not being implicated.”
Faisal Vawda said that the person responsible for the most corruption in this case is Faiz Hameed. He is the mastermind behind all these matters, and so far no one has mentioned Faiz Hamid’s name. Faiz Hameed’s involvement can also be seen in orchestrating the escape of Shahzad Akbar and some other individuals. The remnants of Faiz Hameed’s influence can still be found in the Senate and elsewhere. Right now, I am talking about his assets in Pakistan.”
He further added, “What the former Imran Khan taught has now been fulfilled by me. I have been demonstrating responsibility all along. I don’t say anything based on someone else’s words. Today is the first step. Now, I will make a stop in Quetta, traveling from Bahawalpur and Chakwal. I am only doing this for the sake of the country’s dignity. Currently, I am not discussing other grave crimes of the PTI.”
The former minister said, “When I gave advice to Imran, I was expelled from the party. When I was expelled from the party, the party was on top. Imposing restrictions on the PTI has not yielded any benefits. Right now, more work has been done by imposing restrictions.”
