National Crime Agency (NCA) has requested the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to provide details regarding a £190 million case, and the head of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML), Sheikh Rasheed, has responded to the matter at the NAB.
Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed was not present for questioning at the NAB Rawalpindi; instead, his lawyer Sardar Shahbaz Khan appeared before the NAB and submitted the response on behalf of the former minister.
In the submitted response by Sheikh Rasheed, it was stated that the issue of Al-Qadir Trust case did not come up during the federal cabinet meeting as he was not present in the cabinet meeting prior to the discussion of the Al-Qadir Trust matter.
The former Interior Minister mentioned in his response that he had no affiliation or communication with the current Minister for Accountability, Shahzad Akbar, during that time, and there were no conversations between them.
Sheikh Rasheed also mentioned that he does not possess any documents related to the case.
It is evident that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had summoned former federal minister Sheikh Rashid today.
NAB authorities had directed Sheikh Rasheed to bring relevant documents related to the case.
Previously, in the Al-Qadir Trust case, NAB had arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, and investigations are ongoing regarding his involvement in the matter.
