In response to directives from the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the health department has issued a heatwave advisory.
The districts of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan in southern Punjab are expected to be severely affected by the heatwave.
Yesterday, the highest temperature was recorded in Jacobabad, reaching a scorching 47 degrees Celsius.
The Sindh province is also expected to be gripped by the heatwave from May 21 to May 27. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has alerted all relevant agencies. However, temperatures in Karachi are expected to be relatively milder, ranging between 36 to 39 degrees Celsius compared to the rest of the country.
