Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is on a 5-day visit to China, where, addressing the Pak-China Business Forum in Shenzhen, he said that he has come for business and investment, not loans. China’s progress is exemplary for all of us.
Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the need to move forward by leaving the past behind. It is time to enhance bilateral relations through dialogue. China’s progress is a model for all, and the world should learn from China’s progress. China has become the world’s second-largest economy in a short period. Shahbaz Sharif also declared China as Pakistan’s best friend.
Earlier, Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb, speaking, said that the government’s focus is on economic reforms. We will see a decrease in the current account deficit next year. Economic indicators in Pakistan are moving in the right direction. The inflation rate has dropped to less than 38 to 11 percent. The prices of essential commodities are decreasing rapidly. The government is focused on the agenda of economic reforms.
Before that, speaking at the Pak-China Business Conference, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi said that Shenzhen is an example of rapid progress. Business forums will prove to be conducive for cooperation and partnership in various sectors.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with the founder and chairman of Chinese company Transsion Holdings, Zhao Jianjiang, in Shenzhen. The Chinese company has shown interest in investing in its mobile manufacturing unit in Pakistan. The Chinese company expressed interest in investing in mobile phone production, electric bikes, modern agriculture, and fintech.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the federal ministers to prepare an action plan in collaboration with Transsion Holdings. The Prime Minister said that the government is ensuring facilities to foreign investors and businessmen. Shahbaz Sharif invited Transsion Holdings to produce goods locally in Pakistan and export them abroad. He said that Pakistan has all kinds of resources, and our greatest strength is our young workforce.
