Sunny in some areas and cloudy in others, rain is expected to start in various parts of the country from today, which is anticipated to reduce the intensity of the heat.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain with thunderstorms is expected in various areas of Sindh from today until July 1. From June 27, light rain with strong winds and thunderstorms, and heavy rain in some places, are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and Chakwal. From June 26 to June 30, rain with thunderstorms is also expected in Bahawalpur, Lodhran, and Muzaffargarh.
From June 28 to July 1, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
The Meteorological Department states that from June 28 to July 1, rain with thunderstorms is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chitral, Swat, Mansehra, and Abbottabad. From June 26 to June 28, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Lasbela and Khuzdar.
From June 28 to June 30, heavy rain may cause urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Narowal. Daily activities may be disrupted and weak infrastructure may be damaged due to strong winds.
The Meteorological Department has instructed all relevant agencies to stay alert.
Additionally, the heatwave continues in Karachi, with temperatures expected to reach up to 40 degrees Celsius today. Citizens will endure a partial heatwave for the next two days.
